The folks at El Lago have been making tortillas and chips in Austin since 1967! The Austin home for our tortilla factory has always been just east of I35. At one time an attached little store offered our products to the public but eventually we had to focus on our restaurants, if you have a restaurant or a Taco stand you are welcome to stop by our factory store and enjoy our products. We have been supplying tortillas and chips to many of the well know Mexican restaurants for decades. 

Located just east of I35 in downtown Austin, we are tightly integrated into the Austin community. El Lago's nearly 100 employees live in or around Austin. Our children play in the soccer leagues and their parents participate in other functions all around the city. Being members of the Chamber of Commerce is a great privilege, bringing us closer to Austin.

El Lago's philosophy is to give back to Austin. We donate to the Austin Area Food Bank weekly. We supply Meals on Wheels with tortillas for their deliveries. We donate our used oil to be recycled into Bio-Diesel helping the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. Food production produces waste. Our waste food products are collected and sent to a farm to be used as feed. Every week, all yearlong we donate food to many churches in Austin that are in need.

El Lago also supports local Austin events. Each year when ACL comes to town we are there to help feed the mass crowds. Each vendor that needs tortillas or chips comes to us. We setup a mobile center for purchase and delivery to support the folks that supply food to the public during the festival, ensuring everyone gets fed.

Small businesses in Austin are a way of life. Chances are that if you eat at any of the local food trailers in the entertainment area of Austin you are eating El Lago tortillas. We deliver to these businesses weekly. They always receive fresh product and are ready to serve you when the time comes.
